It was the early autumn of 2014, when Soph and Jhy first officially met. They knew of one another, they played in the same circles, but they’d never actually spoken.

They both loved a party though, in fact it was at a party where Soph first really noticed this guy Jhy, I mean he was pretty hard to miss, he was wearing a crocodile suit.

It wasn’t until the week later at one of their mutual mates infamous house parties where they first started to get to know one another, Soph noticed his cheeky smile and laugh first.

Across the night between the pub and the house party they were both drawn to one another talking and making each other laugh. Jhy worked out pretty quickly that he really liked Soph.

This party was pretty wild and later in the night they all found themselves playing Snap! Now Jhy is a top-notch Snap player, he’s fast and ruthless, and he showed no mercy in the game that night. He isn’t the kind of guy who just let’s people win, cause they have a pretty face, oh no, if they’re bad at the game it’s their fault.

Soph would often look at him during the game playing all cute trying to distract him so she could win at least one game. But Jhy wasn’t having any of it, he was brutal. Nothing was stopping him becoming the Snap Master that night!

They became inseparable, the bestest of friends and they fell for one another easily, saying those 3 magic words just a few weeks in.

They’ve built a solid life together, buying a house and forming their family with Ollie, their dog, and their cute little boy, Sonny. There’s never a dull moment with these two.

Married early in 2022 at our ultimate party venue The Lennox, Soph and Jhy chose the wet weather option as the weather was really cranky and unreliable back then. Luckily the rain subsided with just enough time to grab some epic shots along the Lennox Coastline.

We asked Soph and Jhy what they loved most about their day.

“We loved that the bar staff at The Lennox let me (Soph) have my own drink for the whole time – they made me a special gin cocktail, just the way I like – it was so nice.

We also loved how our celebrant included our dog, Ollie in the ceremony, that was a total surprise and one we loved! All of our guests mentioned it to us later on – classic!!

We loved the speeches & the food & the company! We basically loved the whole day/night!”

Were there any stand-out vendors?

“Rae from Wild Pollen, made the biggest and most beautiful bouquet we’ve ever seen! She was so accommodating with what we wanted the flowers to look like. We wanted Sonny to wear a little buttonhole and she made that for us last minute.
Kirsten from Just Add Flower was also great, easy to communicate with, great prices, and the cake was delicious!

Why did you choose Lennox Head to get married?

“Lennox Head is such a picturesque town, there are so many locations to marry and have photos. Its a small town but still has everything you need and could want from a wedding. Everyone we worked with from our wedding was local and it was just so easy, everyone was down to earth and very helpful.

“The whole day was so so special for us, we loved every minute of it and wish we could do it all again.”
